Assessment of students’ learning is an ongoing process which aim to understand and improve the student’s individualised learning requirements. The comprehensive analysis of students’ progress allows the careful selection of appropriate teaching and learning structure to support the students’ needs and reach their utmost potential. Assessment is also used to reinforce mastery of the skills, evaluate the teaching and learning practices, as well as to motivate and encourage each student to strive and always be at their best.
Standardised Cambridge Primary Assessment at SWA:
- Cambridge Primary Progression Tests for Grade 2, 3, and 4 (marked in school)
- Cambridge Primary Checkpoint for Grade 5 (marked by Cambridge examiners)
Students are also given a variety of formative assessments through worksheets, activity sheets, homework, textbook exercises, unit tests, oral tests, presentations and the like. Summative assessments include the Midsemester Exam given at the end of term 1 and term 3 and Final Semester Exam given at the end of term 2 and term 4.
