Extracurricular Program

SWA provides extensive extracurricular and recreational activities through its EX Program.  These activities are designed to cater for the interests and needs of students and are scheduled during lunchtimes, after school and on weekends.

The program focuses on developing 'balanced' young people by enabling them to explore and extend their areas of personal interest and expertise abilities. It endeavors to promote an active lifestyle, develop social and interpersonal skills, make positive lifestyle choices, manage time and develop leadership skills.

  Activities vary during the year depending on student interest and availability, but may include:

Elementary School

  • Lunchtime Sports Program
  • After School Activities Program
  • Choir
  • Instrumental Classes
  • Band
  • Swim Team
  • 'Open' Library
  • Social Activities (including movie nights, dances)

Middle and High School

  • Interschool sports and intermural sports
  • Instrumental Music - Western, Indonesian, Chinese instruments 
  • Bands, Orchestra, Ensembles, Rock Band
  • Supervised homework support program
  • Fitness Center
  • Clubs e.g. Photography, video, art, dance, lion dance, gong fu, radio, TV
  • Global Issues e.g. Global Issues Group, Model United Nations (MUN), Habitat for Humanity
  • Adventure e.g. mountain climbing, camping
  • Leadership Program e.g Student Council, Leadership Award, Community Service Awards
  • Overseas study trips and sport/cultural exchange trips.
  • Social Programs - movies, dances, social sports events
