Nurturing Purpose: Jaeyi '25's Journey at Sinarmas World Academy
Jakarta, Indonesia, March 1, 2026 — Every remarkable journey begins with a moment that changes everything. For Jaeyi ’25, it started when she was carefully completing her very first titration experiment at Sinarmas World Academy. What seemed like a simple classroom exercise became a turning point because in that instant, chemistry transformed into calling. “The moment I tried on the SWA lab coat and completed my first titration experiment, I knew I was going to become a doctor, dedicated to healing those in need,” she recalled.
As a full-scholarship student for six years, Jaeyi found a space to grow her confidence and a community that nurtured both her academic brilliance and developed a clear sense of purpose that continues to shape her path forward.
Serving as President of STUCO, MUN Club, and several student organisations, Jaeyi learned the power of teamwork, community impact, and diplomacy. Through an Arduino eye exercise programme in “Tech Moguls” and her “VisionWorld” initiative to help cataract patients, Jaeyi actively changed lives through science.

Her dedication has been recognised on a global stage. Jaeyi is a recipient of the Overseas Korean Scholarship, administered by the Overseas Koreans Cooperation Center (OKOCC) under the Overseas Koreans Agency (OKA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Korean government, a highly selective programme awarded to just 80 students worldwide. The scholarship will support her undergraduate journey at Inje University College of Medicine.
Commenting on her success at school and beyond, Deddy Djaja Ria, General Manager of Sinarmas World Academy, said, “Jaeyi’s achievements reflect what Sinarmas World Academy strives to instil in its students: academic excellence grounded in character, global perspective, and a commitment to serving others. For 18 years, we have built an international community of learners, including our Korean families, empowering them to succeed on the world stage.”
Reflecting on her journey, Jaeyi shares: “From brainstorming project ideas with my BioBuilder teammates to preparing our CPR training with enthusiastic teachers, I will value every memory of SWA, my second home.”
Today, Jaeyi stands at the threshold of medical school, carrying with her a rare blend of scientific rigour, leadership maturity, and heartfelt compassion. Her story is a reminder that when curiosity meets opportunity and purpose meets support, remarkable futures take shape.
