Sinarmas World Academy Improves Education Quality Through Quran Endowment and Distribution of Notebooks in Tangerang
Tangerang, 11 May 2024 - Sinarmas World Academy (SWA), under the auspices of the Tjiptamas Eka Bangsa Foundation, once again demonstrated its commitment to improving the quality of education in Indonesia by endowing Qurans and distributing notebooks to several elementary schools in the Tangerang area.
This endowment activity took place over two days. On June 10, 2024, SWA visited Insan Teratai Elementary School in Pasar Kemis, Tangerang, and on June 11, 2024, it continued to three other schools: Ciledug Barat Elementary School, Serua Indah 02 Elementary School, and Kp. Bulak 3 Elementary School. The endowment consisted of 490 Quran copies and 13,790 notebooks, which were handed over directly by the Chairman of the Tjiptamas Eka Bangsa Foundation, Deddy Djaja Ria, and received by the principals of each school.
“At Sinarmas World Academy, we strongly believe that education is the main foundation for building a better future. Through this Quran endowment and notebook distribution, we hope to positively contribute to the surrounding community and provide new enthusiasm for students to continue learning and achieving,” said Deddy Djaja Ria.
This social activity, which has been ongoing since 2018, represents Sinarmas World Academy's concern and responsibility towards improving the quality of education in local schools. With this assistance, it is hoped that students at Insan Teratai Elementary School, Ciledug Barat Elementary School, Serua Indah 02 Elementary School, and Kp. Bulak 3 Elementary School will be more motivated in their studies and achieve better results.
Mukhlis, the Head of the Curriculum Section of the South Tangerang City Education & Culture Office, who was also present during the Quran endowment and notebook distribution, stated that this activity can serve as an example of inter-institutional educational initiatives to support each other, especially for schools that need assistance.
“One of the challenges in education today is the significant quality disparity. Therefore, support from Sinarmas World Academy like this is a concrete step with an impact so that public schools can develop and grow in this modern era. Through this activity, we also learn to always remember to share with those around us,” he said.
Siti Nurjanah, a student at Serua Indah 2 Elementary School, expressed her happiness about the Quran endowment and notebooks from Sinarmas World Academy. "We are very happy with this attention. We will make the best use of the Quran and notebooks for learning and practicing religious values," she said.
The Quran endowment and notebook distribution is one of a series of social activities carried out by SWA. Previously, SWA elementary students also provided financial assistance amounting to IDR 22,488,000, which was collected from kidspreneurship activities and an art auction on Kartini Day, given to the Sayap Ibu Foundation and the Kasih Mandiri Foundation. Social activities are an important part of learning at SWA, which always reminds its students to share and contribute to the surrounding environment, especially for those in need.
