MS HS Activities
Cooking Club

The cooking club supports Diploma students who are planning to go abroad and live independently. It helps students to develop the skills necessary for food preparation from breakfast to lunch, desserts, healthy vegetarian snacks and other inspirational meals. Throughout the activities, the cooks have also learnt to develop teamwork and enhance their creativity in preparing food.
United We Ball

United We Ball is a CAS project that involves many students teaching basketball skills to students in the local area. This year we have tried to create activities in and outside the court for the development of the local students who have been invited to join this programme.
Makers Club

This year has seen the launch of the SWA Makers Club. Congratulations to the pioneering students who showed initiative and confidence by volunteering to become the first members of this club. IT support have devoted large amounts of time and effort to ensuring that every week the club have fascinating and challenging projects to construct. The focus this academic year has been to develop arduino projects. Students have constructed a console (to play Tetris), a sensor to measure temperature and humidity, and a radar capable of detecting incoming objects, and setting off an alarm in response. Thank you very much to the industrious and intrepid Maker’s for their efforts this year, we are looking forward to new challenges in 2018-19, especially longer-term projects which we can construct as a team!
Riveria English

The Riveria Club has had a very active and productive year. Teaching two large groups of students every Thursday and Friday afternoon, our SWA volunteers have learnt the value of a tried and true teaching plan and shared the joyful experience of discovering a new language with these young learners. It has been another very rewarding year for all!
Art for All

The Art for All club experienced a very dynamic and diverse this year. Comprised of Grade 6 and Grade 11 students, this wide age range helped create an atmosphere of student peer-mentoring and support within the club itself. Students dedicated their semester efforts to completely redesign, hand-draw, and simplify the English of The Piggy Book storybook. The result was a beautifully executed new colouring book, which with support from another SWA club, was donated to a nearby local school. The Art for All students have all grown wonderfully with the spirit of art and service.
